Mental Health Workers Assist Saint John Police with Crisis Response Calls

A study conducted by Mary Ann Campbell found that when mental health workers accompanied police officers on calls involving people in crisis, there was less use of force - fewer people were involuntarily hospitalized, fewer people were taken into police custody, and community resources were better utilized.
